Happy Monday!

I hope ENJOYED an additional day of rest and relaxation.   We have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us filled with the Eich Bowling Tournament,  iReady assessments, awards assemblies and Read Across America Week.  Please see the information below for further details about each event below.
In Leadership this week, the team discussed on-demand writng assessments, preformance tasks and PLC documentation.Your team has been asked to discuss the following questions and report back to the whole to ensure that we are creating an academic system of assessment and instructional alignment.

  • As you collaborate as a grade level in our PLC what information do you feel needs to be documented and shared with the greater good?

  • What are the on-demand writing assessments that are given at your grade level?
    • If there are not any what ideas or past practices could be addressed to meet this need?
    • The team established that there is a need to create a school-wide continuum of assessment?

  • What are the performance tasks that we are asking our students to engage in, in order to assess conceptional understanding of mathematics and the ability to write across the curriculum?
    • Please take time to as a grade level to explore the performance tasks in your adopted math curriculum and assess if these assessments will meet our needs.
    • In order to create a  continuum of assessment that prepares our students for the CASSPP in third create we need to create students who can persevere and explain their thinking in writing.
    • Please take time time to complete the form below as a grade level:

This collaborative conversation about PLCs, assessment and writing across the curriculum will inform our future plans for writing and assessment across the curricular areas.

Team TJ!
