HOLIDAY READ AROUND INFORMATION

The Sign-Ups will be posted in the MPR on Tuesday, December 17, 2019! 

Our Fifth Grade Stars will have the first pick of the places they wish to visit, given this is their last Read-Around.  This is an important moment because they get to visit those who have touched their lives!   We will continue in reverse order.

The sign-ups are posted in the hallway of the MPR.  

 

Sign up directions:

• Please have EACH student bring a pencil and clipboard or book to write on.  
• The STUDENT SIGN UP SHEETS are in a bag on the wall.  
• PLEASE HAVE A TEACHER remove the number of student sheets you need for your class and pass them out.   
• Have students in groups of 3-5 sign up at a time to ensure that you can monitor that they are signing up and recording their choices on they student sheet.
• Collect student sheets, ensuring that they are complete for Friday's event.  

Our Holiday Read Around Schedule will host three reading sessions.  The first will begin at 9:30 and we will continue until recess.  Please follow the schedule below and grade level partnerships below:

Reading Buddies:

Please connect with one another in the early days of next week about the number of students in each class that need buddies and give the students a chance to meet one another prior to the event. Communication is very important for this event to be successful  Please ensure that every TK-1 student has a buddy!

The schedule will be as follows:

9:25 - Buddies head to buddy classes and pick up their reading buddies

9:30 - Session 1

9:45 - Transition to Session 2

9:50 - Session 2

10:05 - Transition to Session 3

10:10 - Session 3

10:25 - Transition to CLASSROOMS

10:30 - Kinder, First and Second Grade Hot Chocolate Party in the MPR or Quad

11:01 - Third, Fourth or Fifth Grade Hot Chocolate Party in the MPR or Quad

Please be prepared to step out of your classroom and supervise the transitions and ANY support for the school-wide hot chocolate party will be much appreciated!

Please note:

Each grade level will have a walkie - please pick one up from the office, this will be the way that we will communicate with to inform you when it is time to make your way to the stage.  

2nd and Third grade will start in the MPR - Enter from the office side door.

 2nd grade will exit on the stairs on the primary wing side and then return to the 2nd-grade classrooms through Mrs. Scudder's classroom. 

3rd Grade will enter the stage on the office side door and exit down the stairs on the primary side entering the cafeteria and returning to the classrooms through the front office doors and the staffroom.

Kindergarten will enter from the Kinder wing and exit down the stairs on the primary side entering the cafeteria and returning to the classrooms through the front office doors and the staffroom.

4th Grade will enter from their classroom along the wall of the office and exit down the stairs on the primary side entering the cafeteria and returning to the classrooms through the front office doors and the staffroom.

First Grade will enter and exit on the primary wing stairs and return to their classrooms

5th Grade will enter from their classroom along the wall of the office and exit down the stairs on the primary side entering the cafeteria and returning to the classrooms through the front office doors and the staffroom.

PBIS Teach To Schedule

January 2020

As we conclude the month of December and welcome Winter Break, we are already preparing for our return in January.  The expectation is to complete the teach-to the first week upon our return on Tuesday-Friday.

The PBIS team and Kirsten will be teaching the first two lessons on Tuesday and it is the expectation that each grade level teaches the other assigned Teach-tos on Wendesday-Friday.

The PBIS team has identified the following areas and lessons that will be taught:

Ball Procedures

Lunch Room Procedures

Quad Expectations

Restroom Expectations

Playground Expectations

Please mark your make the notes in your lesson plan for Tuesday, January 7, 2019:

10:30-10:45 - Ball Cart Procedures - The carts will be fully stocked with the new balls.

• Grades 1-2 Meet at Room 24 by the new ball cart and Madeline will teach the lesson to all students
• Grades 3-5 Meet at Room 6 by the new ball cart and Brittany will teach the lesson to all students

The Lunch Room Procedures will be taught by Kirsten and Mary at the following times:

11:01-11:20 - First and Fourth Grade

11:25-11:40 - Third and Fifth Grade

11:50-12:05 - Kindergarten and Second Grade

Please complete the other expectations for the rest of the week by grade level, one expectation a day.

Please complete the form below BY GRADE LEVEL to inform the PBIS team as to when your team will be teaching the PBIS expectations.  Each grade level team can decide when which of the three remaining lessons will be taught.

RCSD K-5: General Education, RSP, SDC, PE, and Music teachers PD Agenda

RCSD K-5 general education, RSP, SDC, PE, and Music teachers, for the January 6th PD day we will be at Destiny Church, 6900 Destiny Dr, Rocklin, CA 95677. We will be starting right at 8:30 am.  You do not need to bring any supplies or a computer for the morning. Check with your principal for what supplies you need for the afternoon. We will be in the same building as the PD on October 31st but in a different room.  Please go into the same doors as you did on that day and someone from RCSD will help direct you where to go.

Results from the PD Focus Survey,

We will return to Thomas Jefferson and focus on Essential Standards and Assessment. We will focus on our current assessment systems by grade-level, share out assessment norms and protocols and there will be work time to focus on the Essential Standards and assessment by grade-level.
