Weekly Bulletin 9/26/2916

The Cue Admin conference that I attended this weekend pushed my thinking and fueled my brain in ways that I did not think was possible!  The image above is a perfect illustration of our school....where we are as a team and the work we need to do!

We need to continue to be FEARLESS in our passion for changing the lives of kids!
We need need to revisit our VISION and reflect on the work!
We need have faith and BELIEVE in our work and ourselves!
We need to continue to HUSTLE...our kids deserve it!
We need to remain FOCUSED!
We need to GET OUT THERE...think outside the box...innovate!
We need to  MOTIVATE our students and one another!
We need to continue to INSPIRE!

Last week I posted about the "Power of Yet."  The image above is a perfect parallel to the "Power of Yet."  I often ask myself:

Am I fearless as a leader? Not enough....YET!
Am I a refection of the Thomas Jefferson vision?  I am not sure...YET!
Am I a constant believer in myself? Not always...YET!
Do I hustle enough?  No not...YET!
Am I focused on the vision and end goal?  Not always...YET!
Am I out there in classrooms enough?  NOPE..YET!
Am I motivating in an authentic and meaningful way?  I am not sure...YET!
Am I making leadership moves that inspire?  I am not sure...YET!

I share this with you all because I am humbled by your work and I know that we all have "YETS" that we need to embrace as a team in order to continue to make Thomas Jefferson the BEST place to be!  As my kids say on a road trip, "Are we there...YET?"

The students will come the front of of the MPR to be celebrated! Please contact parents of students who are receiving a Character Trait award.  Please send home an invite too. I have created an invite for you to print out and use if you wish. Fire Drill

Thank you all so much for a great fire drill!  We cleared the campus on 4 minutes and 44 seconds!  I was able to observe the fire drill and the support staff was able to debrief our next steps in order to ensure the safety of our students.  We will be making the following changes to the process:
  • We will assign designated classroom spots on the playground.
  • Doors are to be unlocked and closed
  • Safety Backpacks will assigned to each classroom.
I am sure there is much work to do in the area...and a Safety Committee is coming!

PBIS

Thank you to our PBIS team who will be attending the PBIS Year One PD meeting on Thursday at PCOE.  It is exciting to see how big our team is and that we will representing Thomas Jefferson Elementary! I am confident that the day of learning will impact our site.
