oCtober 10, 2016
As we embark into
another week of quality first instruction, reflection and serving our students
and their families, I take pause…I too reflect and have come to realize that
the FORCE is strong amongst the TJ staff! For this week’s walk through we will
focus on structured academic conversations.
How often are you
having students speak with each other using academic language through out the
day?
As you plan lessons,
please keep in mind what your language objective. Is your language objective for every student
speak in complete sentences when responding to a question? Is your language objective for student
content specific language in daily discussions with one another? Please take time to explore the academic
language needed for students to succeed with in the lesson and hold them
accountable using it. That means we
have to use it too!
