Happy New Year

Dear TJ Stars,

2016 was an eventful year for us – Stars – and as it came to a close, I would like to thank you for all the hard work and guidance you provided to our students, the community is very lucky to have you are a part of it!  Please accept my sincere greetings for the New Year. I hope that 2017 brings with it tremendous joy and success for you all!

I am eager to continue our work around collaboration, PBIS,  iReady and RTI.  Our students will most certainly benefit from our growth as educators!  There are some unique learning opportunities available to us: Running Records Professional Development and our PD session on Tuesday, Jan 10, 2017 at Stoneridge.

During this time of year we make resolutions; we resolve to make changes, refine our skills, to be the best we can be.  I was recently thinking of what my resolutions should be this up coming year. There are many things that I resolve to do this year, read more, lose weight, exercise, take time for family; the list can go on and on. I do resolve to be the best I can be for Thomas Jefferson…to support you and our students and our community.  I resolve to continue to learn and refine my practice. I resolve to visit classrooms and be a part of the school community and to take a no office/desk day every two weeks.  I resolve to be present and engaged in our practice.   

We have much planned for our school for the remainder of the school year, with your dedication and determination, we will again be able to complete them with the heart and spirit of RISING STAR

PBIS Launch Assembly

The PBIS Launch assembly will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 9:30.  This will be a school wide assembly.  There will not be two assembly times.  Please take note of this when coming in with your classes.  Please have your class sit on either side of the center aisle rather than straight across the MPR.  The assembly should be no more than 20 minutes.

PBIS Launch Teach-To Schedule

The RISE teach-to schedule will be delivered to your boxes on Thursday.  We will begin the school wide teach-to on Tuesday, Jan 17, 2017.  This will allow you to set up your RISE classroom expectations this coming week.  Please take time to review the expectations this week and this will support our work next week.  The PBIS team has placed the lessons and posters on rings in your box for easy use.  Viola has made a poster for classroom use:
