A Theory of Action maps out simply, in a logical order, what we think needs to happen in order to reach long-term, sustainable change in our school
We believe that learning and achievement by ALL students will only occur when the quality of instruction is the first instruction that.
Instruction will improve with the continuous development of leadership capacity in every member on staff in a means to:
— - Recognize, articulate, and coach for powerful teaching and learning
— - Lead and guide focused professional learning
— - Confront and address issues of equity and access
— - Engage in problem solving and critical inquiry
— - Utilize data to inform and assess decisions
— - Target and align resources
As professional educators at Thomas Jefferson Elementary we have been focused on professional development in literacy and our new Benchmark adoption, PBIS, and and analyzing data to develop our leadership capacity in order to impact our teaching and learning of our students. In the coming weeks we will begin to be more focused on utilizing data to inform instruction and make decisions as practitioners.
These action steps are critical to reach long-term sustainable change in our instructional program.

Teach- To Schedule
The Teach-To for the MPR/Lunch Procedures will be conducted this week during lunch time in the MPR. We will be addressing rainy day and non rainy day expectations during the time that the students are with us. The formal Teach-To schedule will resume next week when the weather improves. Keri will also be teaching Library expectations over the next two weeks. Please continue to teach the RISE expectations in your classroom as if it was the beginning of the academic year. Classrooms should also reflect the new umbrella expectations on posters and wall decor.
The Thomas Jefferson PTC will be hosting a Chick-fil-A Family night at our local
Chick-Fil-A restaurant. Please see the sign up sheet in the staffroom if you have not already signed up. It is a wonderful experience for all when the staff is present and a part of this great event!
