Grades 3-5 and all instructional assistants will be meeting at 2:00- 3:00 to review CASSPP procedures and requirements.  Please bring a personal electronic devise if available to the meeting. We will be meeting in the staffroom.  The following information was sent to parents last week about CASSPP, we will be sending weekly updates about testing in the blog too.

CASSPP Testing Grades 3-5

California’s academic standards are designed so students graduate ready for college and a career. One way we measure their progress is through the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) assessments. Students across California in grades 3–8 and high school take these assessments each spring. These tests were created specifically to gauge each student’s performance in English language arts/literacy (ELA), mathematics, and science. These tests measure the skills called for by the academic standards, including the ability to write clearly, think critically, and solve problems.

Because CAASPP tests are given statewide, they provide an opportunity to measure the skills of all students against the same academic standards. Given online, the tests are computer-adaptive, allowing more precise measurement of individual skills.

For further information please see the letter link below, that was emailed home earlier this week.

There will be weekly updates and parent information added to the blog as we approach the testing window. This years testing window is from April 24- May 26, 2017.

Startruck!

This will be the last week of rehearsals for the kiddos.  Please take time to practice in your own classroom if needed.  I will share the assembly schedule with you all by Wednesday of this week.

Ticket sales will end on the 24th.  Please take time to remind parents of this via email.  The office will also send a email and a phone call to remind parents of this deadline.

I will be taking care of the back drop with PTC, please ensure that you have coordinated with you parents about costuming.

IT IS A REQUIREMENT THAT IF CHILDREN ARE PREFORMING THAT THEY STAY FOR BOTH PERFORMANCES.  PLEASE COMMUNICATE THIS TO YOUR PARENTS.  I WILL ALSO BE COMMUNICATING THIS VIA THE BLOG AND SCHOOL MESSENGER.
