WAY to GO! Our 1st Team is TOP NOTCH! The Thomas Jefferson KINDER AND FIRST Grade Team has the BEST first trimester data in the WHOLE district. This team should be celebrated! They are hosting powerful first instruction, meaningful RTI and engaging their students BEYOND the classroom with a field trip the the Roseville Utility Exploration Center. PBIS RESPONSIBILITY BOOSTER
We are ONE week into our first PBIS Booster the week that we return from Thanksgiving Break. We will be focusing on our life skill of the month: RESPONSIBILITY.
Our booster will end with a hot chocolate party after the holiday read around on December 22.
Each class will strive to earn 10 marshmallows to add to their cup of hot chocolate that is on the poster provided. Marshmallows are earned by the class earning 10 responsibility tickets; and responsibility tickets are earned by individual students. Students will earn tickets and submit it to their classroom teacher…once the class has collected 10 then glue the marshmallow to the poster.
The goal is that every class participate in the Hot Cocoa party.

GATE TESTING
Please share with your families.
The 2018-2019 school year GATE identification test will be administered at the District Office for students currently in 2nd – 7th grade. The students will take the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test, OLSAT, that tests abstract thinking and reasoning ability. Students must attend one of the testing dates on the OLSAT Parent Permission Form in order to complete the testing by the district. The Parent Permission Forms will be made available on November 13, 2017 on our district website @ www.rcsdk8.org under the “Parent” tab. All forms must be returned to the District Office by January 5, 2018 if you would like your student tested. There are no exceptions as materials are ordered based on the number of returned forms. Make sure you check the district website under the “Parents” tab for more information regarding GATE services and testing.
ELAC - ENGLISH LANGUAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
We will be hosting our first ELAC meeting on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 3:30 pm. Invitations were sent home in last week's Red Folder. We look forward to learning and leading with our parents on this committee as we learn and lead together.
