Principal Ponderings:

If you have not completed this please do so and forward to me by the end of Monday's PLC...

I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the thoughtful work on the SMART Goals before winter break.  It was clearly evident that when we drill down and concentrate on a skill we see great growth.  With that being said, please take the next couple of weeks to create another short SMART goal cycle that is grounded in data and share the goal, targeted group of students and outcome date with me by the end of PLC on the 29th.  We will once again be sharing out comes of our goals in at the March 7th Staff Meeting.  Please complete the SMART Goal Worksheet attached and place a copy in my box.  Please copy the form prior to completing or printing; to access the form CLICK HERE. Please forward the forms to me and share your goal on the staff board in the staffroom on Tuesday, Jan 30.

TK-3rd Grade Team:

Please see below and complete this week:

I have heard from each of the primary teams that there are gaps in the phonics instruction in Benchmark and that we are supplementing the Benchmark instruction with SIPPS.  I have reached out to Melissa Duncan for support as we we address this issue in our second year of Benchmark implementation.

She is able to join us on February 26, 2018 during our PLC.

In order for her to support us please take time to complete the form attached.  Please CLICK HERE to access the form.

Our goal is to create a through line and a common understanding of phonics instruction at Thomas Jefferson.  I think it would be best for articulation if we all clearly understand what each grade level is doing to teach tier one phonics so that we can support our tier 2 and 3 kiddos through systematic RTI.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the form as a grade level and please mark your calendars for the 22nd of February.

If you are able to join us at our FAMILY NIGHT for SAMI'S CIRCUIT on Wednesday night...out PTC our love to see you and your families!  Please join us on Wednesday the 31st from 6:00-7:00 pm.
