This week is about ALL of you! We will be celebrating you and ALL of your hard work. Each and EVERY ONE of you makes Thomas Jefferson a special place to be. Our amazing PTC will be honoring the staff with daily treats in the Staff Room!
2018 Thomas Jefferson Staff Appreciation Week
The PTC is excited to take you on a trip around the world as we celebrate our Amazing Staff!
Monday 5/7 – We are headed to ITALY. Join us for an Italian lunch of pizza & salad.
Tuesday 5/8 – We will be in ENGLAND and be serving an English breakfast.
Wednesday 5/9 – We land in FRANCE – OH LA LA – a dessert café will be set up for you to stop by and have a sweet Parisian treat.
Thursday 5/10 – Viva MEXICO!! Join us for a Chips and Salsa Bar.
Friday 5/11 – We head home to the U.S.A. with a Hot Dog lunch!
The Demin and Diamonds event was a wonderful event. There was good food, drink dancing and money was raised! One teacher in attendance, whose name will not be mentioned, help the dessert auction out, at one point the bid was $200, but she was outbid! It was a great time had by all! The PTC did an amazing job!

THE SURVEY CLOSES SUNDAY, MAY 13, 2018
The Annual Thomas Jefferson Parent Survey conducted to collect information from parents about school effectiveness and parent satisfaction. Please complete one survey per child attending Thomas Jefferson. This helps us address grade level concerns or recognize grade level strengths. Please respond to each statement based on your overall experience with our school. A composite of the surveys will be shared with the School Site Council, but individual responses will be kept confidential.
In preparation for this survey, we encourage you to ask your children about their experiences at school.

About the Presenter
Ann Leon has been an educator since 1980. Her experiences include classroom teacher, reading specialist, literacy coach, and assistant principal. She has been a consultant for Center for the Collaborative Classroom since 2002. Ann received her MA in Language and Literacy from California State University, Sacramento. While at CSUS, she learned the pedagogy of beginning reading and intervention from the late Dr. John Shefelbine, co-author of the SIPPS® program. Ann gladly joined the CCC team of staff developers at Dr. Shefelbine’s recommendation in 2001. She is well-versed in several of CCC’s in-school programs. Since 2000, Ann has worked with teachers and students across the country in the area of beginning reading development, reading intervention, and writing.

Get the opportunity to hear from outstanding speakers focused on Reading and Writing in the classroom. Speakers include Dr. Donald Brear, Dr. Bernarbei, Dr. Perez and author Alan Schroeder. Bright Futures: Equitable Access to Learning in the Digital Age
A forum on June 9th in Redwood City for Educators to gather and learn from classroom teachers, tech industry representatives and experts in educational research about best practices using technology tools and hands-on STEAM projects to support learning opportunities for all students.
