January 14, 2019

WHEW!  What a week back!  It was wonderful to welcome our Stars back.  Thank you so much for teaching the PBIS Teach-To's and reviewing Big Problem/Little Problem with your students.  Please remember to email me when you have completed this instruction with your students.  Here are some video links that can support further review of Big Problem/Little Problem:

Pete the Cat Groovy Buttons

I saw this post over the weekend and it really made me think about our why.  Joe Sanfelippo is an educator who I follow and his short message hit home...All of our kids are ALL of our Kids.  Often we need to figure out their WHY and with that meaningful and powerful relationship...we can create change.
Joe Sanfelippo's Message.

I will be off campus today during PLC at the RCSD Job Faire and on Wednesday at the MTSS meeting, I will be returning for Leadership on Wednesday.

Thank you for all that you do!
Kirsten

PLEASE SHARE THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION WITH YOUR PARENT IN YOUR WEEKLY UPDATES.

PLEASE remember that student safety is ALL of our responsibility on the way to school and at dismissal.  It is important to keep in mind:
  • Remain in your car in the loop.
  • Do not park in the loop
  • Remain in a SINGLE FILE line in the loop and your children will walk to your car when you arrive at the top of either loop.
  • Do not drive out of the loop to create a double lane of traffic...we have small children who are using the crosswalk and double lanes make it very difficult cars to see them  We also have students who enter their cars on the lane side.
  • PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF IN THE FRONT LOOP, THIS IS FOR BUSSES AND COMMERICAL TRANSPORT ONLY.

PD and Different Opportunities

Love and Logic Classes Start in February
Please find attached the flyer for the February/March Love & Logic Training. There is still room, so please make sure flyers are posted at your sites and share with staff and families.

As always, if this is an IEP driven service, the Department of Special Education will cover the expense of the class.  Case Managers, please contact your Program Specialist if you are considering adding this to an IEP.

If you have a parent who you feel can benefit from the class but is unable to pay, please work with your PTC to assist with the cost.  If that is not an option, contact Kathy Yang and we can discuss a scholarship.
