Greetings!
I hope that you all had a wonderful and restful break. A very special THANK YOU to John and Rico for working over the break to work on some facility maintenance and to prepare for our upcoming professional development. Jen Hill will be out on medical leave for a few weeks and we are thrilled to welcome Jessica Lyons as her long-term Sub. Please take a moment to welcome her to the team.
I always find myself reflecting at this time of year, both personally and professionally. Kelly shared this wonderful thought this week and it got me thinking.
This made me think about where I have been and how that journey can be the foundation of the next steps in my journey. It also made me think of our students and how they come to us with their own foundations…they too are fighters and worth celebrating…EVERY SINGLE ONE!
As we move forward with our school year please take this time to celebrate every child in your classroom and to highlight their successes. As we review our R.I.S.E expectations and reteach the Zones of Regulation please encourage your students to embrace a growth mindset. They CAN do it, they are WORTHY and they can be the CHANGE in the world. We also may need to embrace this notion at times too when we are frustrataed…explore what is in our locus of control and be the CHANGE you want to see in them.
Thank you for being such a powerful force in the lives of our Stars!

PBIS Reteach and Zones Of Regulation Refresher
We are reviewing PBIS Teach-To’s the first week back at
school. On the first day back, please review PBIS norms within your
classroom. Then on Wednesday 1/9 and Thursday 1/10, we will facilitate
Teach-To’s among the lower and upper grades. As we’ve done in the past,
please decide who is teaching the lesson for that physical location. Also,
please ensure that it is the same teacher teaching that lesson on both days at
the same location.
In addition to the PBIS Teach-To’s that first week, please
re-teach the Zones of Regulation Big Problem/Little Problem with your class. If you need to link to the lessons please ask Kirsten or Viola.
There will be NO welcome back assembly this year to ensure
that there is a day without interruptions to the routine. There will be a short
video for you to share with your class from Mrs. Acke about the PBIS
expectations. Please plan accordingly. The video will be forward to you on Monday.
The Teach To Schedule can be found HERE!
