Feb. 4-8, 2018

Hi Team TJ!

This month's character trait is Integrity.  Please take time to teach and review this trait with our students. The monthly launch video can be found below:

Please show this video to your students on Monday, February 4, 2019.  I will post it on the FB page and the school blog.  Lessons for integrity can be found here:

Integrity Lessons

As part of meeting the social-emotional needs of our students, it is important to teach these concepts to our Stars.  I will be checking in with you and your grade level to learn about how you will be teaching integrity to your students.

Thanks so much!

-Kirsten

The fourth of our 5-part series on Balanced Literacy is coming up on February 26th.  Join us  for an evening with Lori Oczkus as she delivers a fast-paced and energizing presentation on the Essential Comprehension Strategies.
Lori is a literacy coach/demonstration teacher and presenter and has trained teachers nation wide! She is the author of several books including Reciprocal Teaching At Work, and Literacy Survival Tips that you received when you signed up for the entire Balanced Literacy Series. Be prepared to share with Lori some of the tips you have tried from her book and to learn how to make comprehension strategies fun and meaningful so they stick with your students!
See you on TUESDAY, THE 26TH and save room for dinner!!!
I HIGHLY recommend attending this PD.  If you are interested please let me know.  I will be there

Family Literacy Night - Thursday, Feb. 28, 2018 - 6-7:00

The Mc Teacher Night on the 13th has been canceled.  It was brought up that there was a common agreement in the past that there were be only one evening teacher involved fundraiser a year.  I do apologize for that misunderstanding, with that being said we are exploring our options.

The PTC has graciously offered to have the funds of the February event support the fifth grade Alliance Redwoods trip due to increasing costs.  There is a proposal for the evening to be on Feb. 19th.  McDonald's has requested that we have two to three teachers present during the event.  The event is from 4-8pm.  This fundraiser gives 15% of ALL proceeds for the time period, this could be up to $700. This is a great opportunity to support our Outdoor Education program.

Please complete the form below letting us know if you are available.

Thank you so much for helping out!

Kirsten and the TJ PTC
