March 22, 2018

Spring has sprung!  The trees are in bloom, the birds are singing and the kids are ACTIVE!  Thank you for your engagement in Wednesday's PBIS professional development.  Please remember the 3:1 ratio, it is important that we intentionally focus on the positive behavioral target talk that we expect.  "Thank you for walking safely in the quad."  "You are waiting your turn patiently, that is very respectful, thank you." Also, remember to take out your Starbucks at recess and when you are out and about.  This gives us all an opportunity to connect with students who are not in our classes.  ALL of our kids are ALL of our kids!

We have a very busy week ahead of us next week, with StarStruck, Fire Drill, Awards Assemblies and Demin and Diamonds...WE CAN DO IT!  It are events like this that add to the JOY of being at school!  Thank you for all that you do to make it all happen! Your hard work does not go unnoticed!

If your grade level has not sent me an update about your SMART goal please do so.

I hope you all have a wonderful and restful weekend!

STAR STRUCK REHEARSAL AND ASSEMBLY SCHEDULE

We will be starting our first day back from break with rehearsals and the assembly.

Last Practice:

This week each class will come over to her for 15 minutes each.  Please see your schedule that she handed you during your last class as a time reminder.

The first 5 minutes she will not be working with your class.  You will need to use these 5 minutes to get your class lined up, in number order, and have them outside and ready for their entrance.  Your number chart was attached in that hand out as well.

As soon as she is done with the class prior to yours, she will come to the outside area and have them practice their entrance from there.  Then she will run their dance once with counts, once with music, and then have them practice their exit.

Assembly:

The key to having the assembly is to have the students practice in front of a big audience before the nighttime performances.  Plus, it is fun to see all of their friends' dances and show off everything they have been working on the entire time.  I do hope to see every class at both assemblies.

When it is assembly time, all students need to be dressed and ready to go.  Assemblies:  Tues. March 26  and Thurs. March 28.

Half of the gym we will have the group that is not performing sitting together, and the other half of the gym we will have all the performers.  This way everyone can see both assemblies and all classes do their dances.

If you are performing, please have your class sitting in their line-up order, #1 to the end of your line, so they are ready to go.  We will use the "On Deck" system during the assembly.  One group on stage performing, while the next group is "On Deck", outside in their line-up order ready to go.  So to make it easier, they should just be able to stand up and go straight to the outside stage to enter, already in their line-up order.

The evening shows they will be in their classrooms and will be called up to perform.  So you will then need to have them in their line-up order once they leave their classroom.

Good luck to all of the classes.  I know the shows will be amazing.

Dancing Teachers:

Michelle will see us from 8:00-8:30 on Tuesday.  This is our last practice before your shows.  Then you will perform at both assemblies and the 4 nighttime shows.  Don't forget your costumes and Break A Leg
