THANK YOU TEAM TJ!
What a wonderful start! The first two days were amazing and I would have to say the best of my career! That is because of you! It was such a pleasure to watch you all welcome ALL of our students with open hearts and smiles! I also am so very grateful for the collaborative focus on supporting our students that are in need. I am honored to be a part of a team that supports students and families!
As we transition into our first full week of school, it is important as you build your classroom climate and culture that you also focus on the Zones of Regulation. If you have not addressed this in your plans please ensure that they are in your plans next week and the week after. We will then introduce Big-Problem Little Problem in week three and four.
Our Second Step curriculum is in route and this should be taught in parallel with the zones. This target talk was super successful in solving problems on the playground, in the cafeteria and in the office. Thank you for supporting social-emotional supports for all of our kiddos!
Next week will be a great week indeed with Back to School Night and a full week of ritual and routines! Thank you for making TJ a great place to RISE to Stardom!

PLC Monday 8/12
We will be meeting in the staff room to review our class lists, articulation cards and using Power School to have a better understanding of our students in our room. If you are a SPED teacher you will be using this time to collaborate around scheduling IEP Sub days.
We will also be reviewing our opening days and new safety protocols.
DUTY Schedule
The link for the Trimester 1 Duty schedule can be found below. If you do not have afternoon duty the first few days additional support on the primary and upper-grade loops would be GREATLY appreciated!
2019-20 Trimester 1 Duty Schedule
We are entering the first full week of school! We all know the importance of teaching the school-wide expectations explicitly to all students in order to ensure success! This is clearly evident in the first two days in the cafeteria and how our Stars have RISEN to success!
Please ensure that you are teaching the expectations to ALL of your kiddos with a common message. The schedule for the teach-tos can be found HERE.
Please remember that when dropping off students and picking up students there are a few guidelines we all must follow:
Students may be dropped off at 8:35 am when the gates open.
Please note that this is a change...we have eliminated an early duty to ensure that we have coverage for when the majority of students are on campus.
- When in the loops, do not park in either loop, the intent of the loop is to create a flow of traffic as we load and unload students. If you need to come to the office or meet with a teacher please park in a parking spot.
- Please do not drive around stopped cars. There are times when a vehicle may have been asked to stop by a staff member and to ensure student safety.
- Use crosswalks. Please use the crosswalk by the Kindergarten playground to cross the street if you are parked across the street.
- Please DRIVE SAFELY, if you are in a rush please keep in mind that there are children arriving to school and a few minutes could save a child's life.
- If you have a child that needs to be buckled into a car seat please park your car. The loop is intended to be a fluid flow of traffic.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO LOAD INTO A CAR UNLESS THEY ARE IN A DESIGNATED LOADING ZONE WHICH IS MARKED WITH A NUMBERED CONE. If you are available for the first two days of the week to helo support our new procedures it would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to eliminate people not to drive past the loop.

RSP SCHEDULE
Rolly is working on the RSP schedule. He has been reviewing the IEPs and familiarizing himself with the student's goals and services. Rolly will be in classrooms this week and supporting students through observation and working on his schedule. We are creating a schedule that supports all students. The schedule is pending.
have also set a goal to have three NO Office days a month. This means that I will be in classrooms, on the playground and NOT in my office ALL Day! The first No Office Day is this Thursday. I am excited to see the amazing things happening on campus!
