October 21, 2019

Hello Team TJ!

It is hard to believe that October is almost over.  I thought Fall was in the air but with it being in the mid-80s this week, I guess that I was mistaken!  We have a busy couple of weeks coming up! This week we will be preparing for Thursday's Harvest Festival.  Things will be a bit different this year, with the set up being on the Primary playground and in the Primary loop. The intent of this is to create one central area so that our first responders and our food trucks are a part of the event and with the addition of Trunk or Treat this year it should be great fun!  The Book Fair is also this week with a big kick-off today after school. The Book Fair will be open after school until 3:30 for parents to come with their students and we also have a Snow Cone Truck at the front of the school and 25% of the proceeds will go to our PTC.  If you have not given your wish list to the PTC for the Book Fair please do so.

Next week is Red Ribbon week...a short one but it will be fun!

Monday Oct. 28-Red'y to live a healthy Lifestyle-Come dressed in RED
Tuesday Oct. 29-Color My World Bully Free-Come dressed in your favorite color
Wednesday Oct. 30-Teaming Together to RISE together!-Wear your favorite Sports Jersey or Shirt

We will also be hosting having our PD on October 31 and November 1.

And then...Parent-Teacher conferences...A LOT going on!

WE GOT THIS!

-Kirsten

Parent-Teacher Conferences are rapidly approaching.  If you have not already scheduled your conferences please reach out to families as soon as possible.  If you are aware of sibling units that attend our school please do your best to coordinate with one another to schedule conferences back to back.

The Watch DOG schedule has been created and the calendar has been shared with our families.  There may be Watch Dogs on campus in the next couple of weeks. Please note that the intention of the program is to foster positive interactions with students and male role models.  Our Watch DOG volunteers should not be used to make copies.  They are a great resource to read with students, practice math facts, sight words support during instruction.

We have asked that our Watch DOGS sign up in advance so you will have a week's notice of a visit to your room.

Thank you!

Please share the message below in your newsletters.

We look forward to welcoming you to our campus!  Please remember that you need to sign up TWO weeks before your day and if you are not able to make it to your volunteer day please give us as much notice as possible.

Watch DOGS must meet our RCSD Volunteer requirements.  Information about the RCSD Volunteer Expectations can be found at https://www.rcsdk8.org/volunteer-policy.
