Message from Kirsten:
My TJ Family,
TJ is such a special place! When I walked onto the campus six years ago I could feel the positive energy and the overwhelming love of a community. In my entire educational career, there has never been a place where I have felt so much at home.
We truly have been through thick and thin together. We have engaged in thoughtful and powerful conversations about our next steps and what is best for kids. We have endured the COVID experience together with grace and understanding. I thank you all for being a part of that journey with me, I am a better leader and educator because of you all!
I am so very grateful for the last six years where you have pushed me to seek to understand, embrace new ideas, and lead with an open mind and open heart when it was hard.
Thank you for embracing me with grace and understanding last Friday, that was the hardest "short-emergency" staff meeting I have ever had. You all hold a very special place in my heart and I will forever be a TJ Star, TJ is the greatest place to RISE to success!
-Kirsten
Open House::
Our Open house will be this Wednesday from 5:30-6:30
Parents will enter the campus through the MPR for the Art Show and then head to your classrooms, thank you all for making this event a welcoming environment.
The PTC will have ice cream treats available for families at the North Star as they leave the event.
It had been over two years since we have had an Open House and I know that you will all make it special!
Staff Meeting
Our next staff meeting will be Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 3:15 pm.
The agenda will include and not be limited to:
- Raptor Training and Teacher Drill
- School-Wide Silent Reading Time
- Grade Level Articulation-
- 2022-23 Class Composition
- Communication of high needs students
- CAASPP Testing
- Classroom Movements
- End of Year Events
Class Articulation 2022-2023
Mark your calendar for grade level articulation and creating classes for the 2022-23 school year.
May 2
May 9
We will be using the same articulation spreadsheet that we have used in the past.
There are students who need further support and it is important that we create a system to further communicate their needs to the next teacher.
Discuss this with Marc about the process at the next staff meeting, would a Google Form meet that need?
New Reading App in Clever… Sora!
- RCSD students and staff can now access a variety of digital titles through Sora OverDrive, a free student reading application! Sora provides safe access to hundreds of age-appropriate e-book titles for students to borrow at no cost. Students can borrow, renew, or place books on hold and the digital titles automatically return at the end of the lending period with no late fees. Students and teachers can use their RCSD Gmail accounts to log into Sora through Clever or via our unique RCSD Sora Link.
Note: Students can increase the number of age-appropriate titles that are available by adding the Roseville Public Libraries to their Sora accounts. Students can do this by following these steps: - 1. Select the dropdown next to “Roseville City School District”
- 2. Select “Add Library”
- 3. Search “NorthNet Library System”
- 4. Select “This is My Library”
