Bulletin for the week of 8/29/2016

Thank you for an amazingly calm and smooth first full week of school!

Thank you, so much for taking time to teach the behavioral expectations for common areas around campus and for teaching the playground rules! Please continue to acknowledge students with Star Tickets.   I will be holding our first drawing on Friday.


Thank you, teachers, for your flexibility in the enrollment, warm body counts and classroom interruptions this week. Thank you to our amazing office and support staff for making phone calls to confirm enrollment and for powering through PowerSchool!  Shout outs to our IAs, Meal Duty Supervisors, Custodial and Kitchen staff for making our lunch service such a success!

Lifeskill of the Month

Our lifeskill of the month is Cooperation/Team Work.  Please take time to infuse this concept into your your classroom through instruction and target talk.  Here is a link to some fun games that you can play with your students, the games will teach and encourage team work.

Ren Learn/AR

RenLearn accounts have been activated and are ready for use.  There were no changes made to the login procedures, so teacher and student account login procedures are the same.

However, at this time the automatic updating process has not been implemented.  Cynthia will be checking each school's accounts to ensure that any recently hired teachers and newly enrolled students have accounts.  She will be notify me  as soon as this changes.  Until that time, please feel free to email Cynthia with any roster changes.

Student Restrooms

Please take a moment to review the PBIS lesson about restroom use.  There have been some mishaps in the restrooms, and they are becoming more frequent.  Our primary kiddos may need an extra boost.  Thank you in advance for your time!

Attendance

Please ensure that you are taking attendance in a timely manner, Margaret has a has to meet a daily deadline and if you are late in doing so, it makes her job much more complicated.  If students are tardy and do not come with a tardy slip please send them back to the office.  

Educational Technology Coordinator Meet and Greet

Cynthia Ciniro, our Educational Technology Coordinator will be on campus on Tuesday, August 30 after school.  She will be in the staffroom.    She hopes to work closely with teachers at Thomas Jefferson, with a focus of educational technology integration and would appreciate hearing about some of your goals and challenges.

If you are available, please stop by so she can say hello!  I heard she is bringing treats!

Library  Schedule

The library will officially open the week after labor day.  There have been recent deliveries, and much work to be done in the library.  Keri has been working hard to ensure that she has the library ready to go for the students and needs another week to ensure that everything is ready to go.  Thank you for your patience.
