Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
EVERY KID NEEDS A CHAMPION
As we seek to understand our work, as we seek to understand our role in student's lives and we seek to understand our kids it is important that we strive to make everyday a GREAT day. Teaching and learning creates great joy. Thomas Jefferson is truly a place where JOY is evident. Every child on this campus is a champion! The power of a relationship, a hello, a smile is much more than we will ever know.
CELDT Testing
The District assessment team will be here to begin to assess students who are on our To Be Determined list. Each Kindergarten and our TK class will have students who will need to be tested. The team will be here all next week and will be starting in Kindergarten and working their way through the classes. The following classes have TBD students who will need to be assessed:
O'Hair
Balao
Reilly
King
Wilke
Keck
Vose
When the team as completed the TBD they will then move on to our Annual Assessments. The team will do their best to respect the bell schedule but, may have to pull during CORE instruction. We appreciate your flexibility.
Williams Audit and Compliance
In order to ensure that we are in compliance with the Williams Act it is important that ALL clorox wipes or disinfectant wipes are locked up and out of student reach. The only hand sanitizer that can be on the classroom is the one that is attached to our classroom walls. Any pump sanitizer that has been brought in to the classroom is not in compliance, because it can splash into a student's eye. Thank you for your attention to this.
Changes in School Calendar
There have been some changes in the School Calendar in order to support the PTC. Please see the changes below; the changes have been posted on the calendar for parents and the TJ staff calendar. Please note them in your newsletters and communication:
10/3 - School Pictures
9/22 - Dance-athon Kick Off Assembly
10/14 - Dance-athon
The Chick-a-Filet evening on September 14, 2016 has been canceled and PTC will reschedule.
Stipend for 2 or Less Absences for 2015-2016
Teachers who were absent two or less days last year will receive about $100 dollars to spend on classroom materials for their classroom. The funds should be made available to the school sites in late September and Mary Jo will contact you at that time if you are a recipient of these funds.
Area3 Writing is at PCOE this year!
