Dear Staff,
During the awards assembly on Friday we will introduce the character trait of courage to our students. This weekend, I often reflected on this character trait and how it impacts all aspects of my life; as a wife, parent, and educator, especially as an educator. We are courageous advocates for our students. We are take risks to provide engaging, meaningful and personalized education for our students. We take leaps of faith and then reflect on where we have been to improve in our practice. We are courageous! How do we teach students on how to be courageous in their own lives, to take risks, to think and problem solve with no real answer in sight? That will be our focus this month.
Courage- the quality of spirit that enables you to face uncertainty or danger without fear.
Those who show courage:
Take risks
Overcome obstacles
Do not give up easily
As educators, we have high expectations for our students and set academic and behavioral goals for them, despite the difficulty or delay in achieving success. We develop plans for attaining success and modify the plan when we don’t get the desired outcomes or expected results or the results are somewhat discouraging. We fail but failure brings opportunity for success! We are great models for courage. Let’s model and teach the character trait of courage this month. Let’s teach our students that courage and taking the leap and lead to greatness!
I am attaching a sample lesson plans and instructional ideas that you may use K-5th grade
Have a Great Week!

Kimber and I realize that this WILL effect instructional times in the day but with the addition of music prep the schedule from last year cannot be used, there are too many conflicts. Please review the schedule and share feedback that has to do with the schedules and if they have have conflicts with one another, not with our perfect day.
