Staff Appreciation Week~

Our PTC has SOME AMAZING THINGS PLANNED!!! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE THEME DAYS!

To our ALL-STAR T.J. Staff:

Tomorrow is the kick off to our Staff Appreciation Week!  We are looking forward to celebrating YOU!  You are encouraged to dress up for the specific sports days, or wear TJ Stars apparel all week long. Here are a few reminders for the week:

Monday:  Baseball day - the PTC will be serving lunch from 11:30-1pm.  BBQ hotdogs, nacho bar, veggie platter and watermelon.  We will also have a surprise for you on the outdoor patio next to the staff lounge!

***ALL STAFF GROUP PICTURE*** Please meet on the outdoor stage at 2:05pm after school on Monday. (wear your hats - to be provided).  We realize that not all of you can make it at this time, but if it works in your schedule please come for the picture.

Tuesday: Basketball day - the PTC will have a mini-concession stand set up in the staff lounge for you to enjoy all day.  **This is also bring a flower day on the student schedule, please bring a vase or jar to hold your flowers**

Wednesday: Football day - the PTC will be hosting a Tail Gate party lunch from 11:30-1pm.  Wings, Hogie Sandwiches, chips, fruit, salad.  **This is "High 5" day on the student schedule.  We are encouraging all the students to give high fives to staff members all day long.**

Thursday: Hockey day - the PTC is putting you in the Penalty Box!  In the freezer in the staff lounge will be your frozen hockey puck treats.  "It's It" cookie & ice cream bars.  One for each of you.

Friday: All-Star day (any sports apparel) - the PTC is hosting an All-Star Breakfast.  Starting at 8am there will be a continental breakfast and coffee available for you to "grab 'n go"on your way to your classes.

Lastly, we are very excited to do something new this week!  Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, sports teams and some of our parents, we will be having a daily raffle of prizes and gift certificates.  See the attached list.  We will draw 4 winners each day and then deliver your prize.  Please be prepared to have your picture taken with your gift, so we can include it in a special thank you to the donor.

It will be a week to remember and we are excited to honor our Thomas Jefferson M.V.P's!!  Thank you for all that you do!

MONDAY COLLABORATION 5/15

We will be exploring Moby Max and Diana and Brent will be supporting us as we make temp. accounts for our classes.  The reason for the temp accounts will be explained at the meeting.  If time permits we will then move into some of the features that Moby Max has that will assist in facilitating your student's learning.  We will also will continue this work at our staff meeting.

STAFF MEETING

We will be continuing our work on the Mission Statement and Common Agreements.  Please some prepared as a grade level with a poster that shares your mission statement for the school and at least two common agreements.  One grade level shared this work that they had done:

Our team discussed the mission statement task.  We found an old copy of the mission statement from 2006.  We liked the statement "Every Student Learns Everyday."  We are open to adding something along the lines of "Every Student Learns at High Levels, Everyday"  to capture our desire to set the bar higher.  

We listed a bunch of belief statements as our collective vision.  Some common commitments we saw in them were:

1.  We are committed to providing a learning environment that is affectively and physically safe.  

2.  We are committed to fostering collaborative relationships amongst stakeholders to achieve common goals.

Volunteer Tea

We are hosting our volunteer team on May 25, 2017.  Please sign up to bring something for this event.  The sign in sheet is in the staffroom.  We have invited 170 volunteers to join us, so please plan accordingly.

PRIMARY CHROME BOOKS and CHARGERS are HERE!!!!!

We will be inventorying them. labeling them and delivering them to you this week!  THEY ARE SO PRETTY!!!!!!!
