WHAT A GREAT START!

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

      What an amazing first two days of school!  As I walked the classrooms and the campus of our amazing school I was humbled by the welcoming smiles, warm hugs and joy in children’s eyes as they were greeted by each one of you.

     Thank you for welcoming our students with open hearts and without reservation, you made their first days of school a wonderful experience. 

  

    We are finalizing student numbers and at this point, it seems that all classroom placement changes have been made at this time.  But, there may be a couple of changes if needed to balance classes.  I will keep you posted.   

    
     Thank you for all of your hard work in preparing for your students, the outpouring of support to our new staff and one another.  You all are amazing!

I am humbled by the grace of you all!  Our STARS are lucky to have you all in their lives!

PLC MONDAY

We will all be meeting in the staff room for the first PLC.  We will be beginning the meeting with a quick meeting as a whole staff focusing on Back to School Night. Then we will break into Grade Level and SPED PLC.  We will be laying the groundwork for Tier One Data agreements.

WHERE: IN YOUR CHILD'S CLASSROOM 

TIMES:    

6:00-6:30 Presentation 1
6:30-7:00 Presentation 2
7:00-7:30 5th Grade Alliance Redwoods Information Meeting

Each teacher will give two presentations in their classroom.  I will be recording a video message for you to show in your classes, it will be no longer than 2-3 minutes.  Please be prepared to add this to your presentation.  If you are handing out packets please place a copy of one in my box in the envelope labeled Back to School Night.  

PLEASE REMIND PARENTS THAT THIS IS A MINIMUM DAY.

PARENT COMMUNICATION:

Our parent survey shared that parents are asking for more frequent communication from the classroom teacher.  Please communicate with the parent community on a weekly basis.  This could be through a newsletter in the Friday Folder, a weekly email or a weekly website update.  Please complete the form below to let me know which mode of communication you will be using.  I also would like to be CCed on emails or receive a copy of the weekly newsletter.

                      Recess Duty

Thank you Diana!  We appreciate all of the hard work that you have put into creating the Duty Schedule.  We will be revisiting the schedule at the end of the first trimester.

First Trimester Duty Schedule

Keri has placed a schedule in your box.  Please mark your first, second and third choices on the paper schedule in your box and return it to her box by the end of the day Monday.  She then will create schedules based on the preferences.  She will do her best to accommodate your requests.

RSP SCHEDULE

Rolly is working on the RSP schedule. He has been reviewing the IEPs and familiarizing himself with the student's goals and services. The schedule will be shared with you all early next week with the goal that we will start RSP support on Monday, August  20, 2018.
